What you’re looking at
These numbers come straight from production and update automatically. Nothing here is hand-edited. We publish them because “trust us” isn’t good enough for something you put in your signup flow.
The metrics
Checks. The total number of checks served, and the last 24 hours, across the API and the public checker.
Latency. Server-side processing time at p50 (median) and p95. Cached verdicts take milliseconds; uncached ones wait on DNS, which we cap with tight timeouts. Your measured latency also includes the network between you and the nearest Cloudflare data center.
Verdict mix. How checked addresses split across categories: business, personal, disposable, relay, education, government, invalid and unknown. It reflects what our customers send us, so it says more about who signs up for B2B products than about email in general.
Workspace share. Of the business domains we’ve checked, the share where we detected Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Some companies use both, so the two numbers can add up to more than the business total.
Accuracy. Measured, not estimated:
- Hard set: a labeled evaluation set built to be difficult, including disposable domains added to public lists after our own list snapshot, shared providers held out of our seed lists, and real-world sender domains. The DNS answers are recorded, so results are reproducible. Every engine change must pass it in CI.
- Traffic-weighted: the same evaluation, weighted by how often each kind of domain appears in real traffic, which is closer to what you’ll experience.
The date shows when the accuracy was last measured.
What these numbers don’t mean
- Accuracy is not a guarantee for any single address. Verdicts are probabilistic; use
reviewfor uncertain cases and fail open on errors. - The mix is not a census. It’s shaped by which products use us and what their signup forms attract.
- No individual data. Everything here is aggregated. We don’t store the addresses we check; see Privacy and data.

How we measure: latency is server-side time per check; the mix counts API and website checks; accuracy comes from the labelled evaluation set described in the docs.
