What your assistant can do

  • check_email

Work email or personal? Category, recommendation, reasons, typo hint, Google Workspace / Microsoft 365.

  • check_domain

The same for a company domain, with its mail provider and MX records.

  • check_batch

Up to 100 addresses or domains at once, for lists and lead qualification.

  • get_usage

Your tier, limits and checks left today.

  • report_wrong_verdict

Flag a misclassified address for human review.

Things to ask

  • “Is jane@acme.io a work email? Does Acme use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?”
  • “Here are this week’s 40 sign-ups. Which ones are personal or disposable?”
  • “Score these leads by email domain and tell me which to send to sales.”
  • “How many checks do I have left today?”

Your account, your control

  • Each connected app gets its own key, named after it, in your dashboard. Revoke it to disconnect.
  • Checks count toward your daily quota and show up in your usage, like API calls.
  • Only the addresses and domains your assistant asks about are sent. Nothing is emailed or probed.

Questions

What is the isBusinessEmail MCP server?

A remote Model Context Protocol server at https://api.isbusinessemail.com/mcp. AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code connect to it and can then check whether an email address is a work email, classify lists and detect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, using your isBusinessEmail account.

How does my assistant sign in?

With OAuth: the assistant opens isbusinessemail.com, you sign in and allow access, and the app receives its own API key named after it. You can revoke that key in your dashboard at any time. Clients without OAuth can send an API key as a Bearer token instead.

Does it cost anything?

No. The MCP server is free. Each check counts toward your account’s daily quota, exactly like an API call; new accounts get 100 checks a day.

What data does the assistant send?

Only the email addresses or domains it asks about. isBusinessEmail never emails or probes them and logs domains, not full addresses.
