Hunter is best known for finding professional email addresses (searching by company domain or by name) for outreach, and it includes an email verifier. It’s a tool for people who send email to companies.
isBusinessEmail is for products that receive signups from companies. It tells you whether an incoming address is on the company’s own domain, whether it’s disposable or a relay, and whether the company runs Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

What isBusinessEmail deliberately doesn’t do
- No email finding. We don’t build or expose directories of people’s addresses.
- No mailbox probing. We don’t test whether
jane@exists. That’s user enumeration, and it isn’t needed to tell a company domain from a shared one. - No storage of full addresses. We keep the domain and a keyed hash of the local part. See Privacy and data.
What it does
- A free API (
/v1/check,/v1/check/batch) with anallow/review/blockrecommendation - Reason codes for every verdict
- Publishable keys for inline hints in your signup form
- Workspace detection that helps onboarding and sales routing
